Mellon Fellows Begin Campus Visits

The New York Six Mellon Academic Fellows began the immersion year of their fellowships with a slate of scheduled visits to each of the Consortium’s six campuses. At the end of August they traveled to the North Country, visiting Canton and meeting with campus leaders at St. Lawrence. They then headed south to the Finger Lakes, where they met with leaders at Hobart and William Smith and explored Geneva. These visits are providing opportunities for cross-campus conversations on adapting to changes in higher education, sharing of best practices and innovative programs, and an inquiry into the varied paths to academic leadership. The fellows will embark on the next leg of their travel in November, traveling to Skidmore and Union early in the month, and then at month’s end will visit Hamilton and Colgate.
