Each year on March 31, we celebrate NY6 International Students Day – in recognition of the many ways these students enrich life on our campuses and in our communities. International students receive a small token of
appreciation from the Consortium, and their campuses celebrate the day as well.
“A critical outcome of a liberal arts education is to give students the knowledge and skills to live and
thrive in a global society,” said Amy Cronin, Executive Director of the New York Six. “ International
students provide important perspectives and contribute to campus life in and out of the classroom, which
benefits and enhances the experience of all students.”
Collectively, the New York Six schools enroll more than 1,000 international students from nearly every
continent. The Consortium provides programming to support these students and to help them build
community across the six institutions, including an annual International Student Summit, webinars, and
day trips to explore upstate New York.
