The Associate Deans of Faculty for Faculty Affairs meets monthly to consider best practices in regards to faculty development, and finds ways to work collaboratively to support faculty development issues.  This is the first in-person meeting of this group, which will involve planning initiatives for the upcoming 2016-2017 academic year.

The New York Six Think Tank has produced a two-minute video summarizing the activities of the recent event at Hobart and William Smith Colleges, Arts and Humanities: Don't Leave School Without It. Led by Union Professor Christine Henseler and HWS Assistant Professor Katherine Walker, the event helped students and faculty think about the ways the arts and humanities prepare them for careers - and life!

Colgate English professor Peter Balakian has won the 2016 Pulitzer Prize for Poetry for Ozone Journal, his collection of poems published last year by University of Chicago Press. The NY6 Study Abroad Collaboration Working Group will be meeting at Union on Thursday, April 21st to make plans for a June meeting of program faculty to explore possible collaborations on programming in France and Spain, to share best practices, and to review proposals of projects planned for the upcoming year.
